This post on Salesforce – Density Settings demonstrates how to update the user interface density as a User and for the entire organization as an Admin.
More precisely density is described as follows, from https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/lwc/guide/data-display-density.html, is, “the display density setting determines how densely content is displayed and where field labels are located. Display density is controlled for the org in Setup, and users can also set display density to their liking from their profile menu”..
For example, take a look at the following account record. On the right, Compact Density view, Cases is completely visible. On the left, no records can be seen:
As noted above, the setting is configurable per-User and also for the org.
To manage the setting as a user, open the avatar and toggle it in the flyout:
For the organization, the setting can quickly be found by navigating to Setup, then searching for “User Interface” or “Density Settings” directly. E.g.,
Now choose the org-wide setting and save:
